"recent forum posts" block truncates the subject matter. old site had all of them on one side, they were complete and it really looked good.
otherwise, the site looks good.
it is going to be a little hard to get used to this new look. afterall, the old site had a background color which was very unique. That stood it apart from other sites.
oh well, the CHANGE has finally come to IV's site as well...I for one, am planning to embrace it :cool:

You are right that to get registered in US I would have to marry in US. That's why I was asking if I even need to get it registered in US to file for my green card. Response I got on this forum was Indian registration certificate is fine.
I want to restate that I got my green card on August 9th 2010. So I need to be married prior to this date for my wife to derive her green card status using mine.

I think you will be fine as long as the marriage happened before your 485 got approved - which in your case is true. However, IMO since your wife is not here in US right now, you will need to do file her AOS via consular processing...

Hello Guys,
I have E-Filed for EAD renew on jne 27th and have sent all the supporting documents the following day. But on Aug 6th recieved an RFE for the photos I haven't sent along with the documents and asked me submit 2 color passport photos. It was my understading that I don't have to send the photos while E-filing since they will be taken at the bio-metric appt. I am done with my bio-metric appt. Do i need to contact USCIS about this or is there any thing you guys can suggest me.

Another thought might be that the contacts on the lens isn't clean (or some other reason not making full contact).
Or just simply that the camera is broken. Have you spoken to Nikon or the shop where you bought the camera?

My wife is going to start her masters here.
My I 140 approved in EB3, with PD May'2009.
Few people are saying not to shift her visa from H4 to F1 as anytime, some miracle is going to happen and we would be able to file I 485.
Need ur advise on my situation i.e, whether to shift her to F1 status:confused:.

What is the purpose of this poll? Why start from 2005 (and not from 2001) ?
trueguy has a poll started for period from 2001 to 2004 and I have started this for 2005-2008.
The limitation is that we can have maximum of 10 entries in a polling!!!

I have not informed uscis about the change although I updated my address in their website. As regards AC 21, if I am ready to file it my current employer said they will be ready to support it but I haven't started that process yet.

I think there is another option too. If she can get in touch with a hospital here, she can come directly for fellowship after which she will have to practice within the same hospital. Some specialties like Radiology and Pathology give you unrestricted license to practice anywhere in US after putting up with the fellowship for certain number of years (5 years in case of radiology). Please check this fellowship option with others who might be more knowledgeable.

And depending on how long you have been on H1 and if the University is a State Univ, your wife can also qualify for in state Tuition fee. These days its very rare for MS students to get funding. You can save some money that way.

Hi,
I think we need to get some facts from DBEC and PBEC through senators. Basically we need to find out how much time(man hrs) per case they are spending so far and project that to Future (Sept2007) and then probably we can prove that What they are saying " backlog will be eliminated by certain date" is impossible.
I ask IV core team to come up with a strategy to tackle this. I know that IV core team has put 6 months time frame in the bill ( I truely appreciate IV efforts in this) but bill becoming a law has a long way to go..so this should be handled seperately. I am willing to contribute, send faxes and call the senators.

Eb2 - India. We filed I140 and then I-485 in July 2007. PD May 2007. Got I-140 approved. EAD / AP approved for me / spouse and Kids. They soft LUD on I-485 after one week of I-140 approval. and My spouse got the RFE.
We just submitted a affidavit during my i485 filing in July as dont have her birth certificate at that time. Now we got RFE for my spouse saying that they need the birth certificate or Non-availability certificate. When we checked with the Birth Registration office, They have the birth certificate but with different Birth date(Her parents changed her Date of Birth during pre-school admission) - Now new DOB is reflected in all her Officical Documents(school vertificate, Passports, Driving License etc) whereas her birth certificate has the original date. Shall I submit the original Birth Certificate alongwith the Affidavit saying the mistake made by her Parents as the response this RFE. Since the Birth certificate is available in the registration office at different date, they refused to provide the non-availability certificate.

Looks like they have begun processing applications filed in July 07.
