any idea on an INSEAD's MBA value when returning to the US to work? I know it holds in good stand in Europe and Asia...
Insead feeds the consulting world.(mainly). So, there is a value with consuting cos based in the US.

I agree with the above poster, that was my first impression as soon as i saw the title. Don't put "difficult" and "spouse" next to each other. There is only one universal meaning for that :)

:).. Just like I tune to Bloomberg radio everyday, listening to all those economists, money managers, bond traders pondering how every other month the Fed makes its move on the interest rate... I'm sick and tired of them predicting what's about to happen must happen by the rule of economics. But I tune in nonetheless every day when I drive to work.:D
It's probably fun, and meaningless.

No. I am an environmental engineer working in Consulting Industry (5 journal articles; 4 conference proceedings).

Please go ahead with the filing especially when your employer is bearing the expenses.
Everything is in flux right now and even the bill is approved, It takes some time for the new system to get in place and you can preserve the Priority Date of the LC applied under the old system, if you need to reapply as per the new merit based point system.

If EAD is not filed along with I485 application, Do we need to wait for I485 reciept to file EAD or a copy of 485 application is enough?

Do you have a currently valid H-1 visa stamped in your passport? If you do, you don't have to apply for a new visa at a US Consul abroad. You would only have to leave the US and return using that visa and presenting the approval notice for company A along with proof that you are coming to the US to work for company A.
I agree with Raysaikat that USCIS is not likely to approve a nunc pro tunc H-1 under these circumstances. But whether or not you pursue this option, you should get and keep as much documentation as possible to show you honestly and reasonably believed you were authorized to work for company B. Such documentation might include any written communications from company B or the attorney telling you that the H petition had been filed and/or that you could legally begin work for them.

Let me restate to make sure I understood your question right :
Are you currently working as described in "A" and going to join a job as described in "B" ?
They don't look similar to me. If your LC was files verbatim as described in "A" and the new job description from your new employer is going to be as described in "B" you will have an issue.

So far not come across
But for Filing only Primary and dependent after that all the dependents and primary applicants will have their own Application Numbers and so.
So no wonder Dependent may get approval.....
But lot of questions araises

When it comes to the delays in obtaining the green card approvals, the new filers in July and those filers before August 17 will also witness a tremendous delays and will have to endure a long and long journey to leave the pipeline of the green card process. Why? As we reported quite earlier in this visa fiasco, we even estimated that approximately 750,000 individual EB-485 applications can be poured into the system during this unusual period of visa number availability as affected by the upcoming filing fee increases and more importantantly the anticipated potential huge visa number retrogression ahead during when they may not be able to file their 485 applications because of the retrogression. After all, the system has only 140,000 numbers for the entire EB categories for each year. Go figure! What would look like the waiting time for the current EB-485 filers and the current EB-485 filers before July 1, 2007!

After going through all this , now we are hearing discussions that it is safe to maintain a H1B, (just) in case the 485 gets denied.

My manager suggested me to read this book. Actually he refered this book for one of the middle eastern issues.
Even though the company is not fully satisfied with Outsource team performance, still they want to stick to it some time beacuse of low budget and cutdown time. Outsourced company has offered 24x7 development which will attract most US companies.
I think time will come soon that we are going to have GreencardVoice.org and fight for early US citizenship for GC holders!
People resist changes, in general, many people will be under the impression that their employers will listen to them if they tell them about the harmful effects of outsourcing and prove that it does not work, but they don't realise that management does not look at it that way. All these entrepreneurs are capable and smart and they know what they are doing.
One thing people must understand that in the modren day world, if anything is constant, that is "change". Yes, "CHANGE IS CONSTANT" and one has to adapt to changes to survive in this present day world.
Issues arise time to time, and one has to face them and be bold and must do something about it rather than crib about them.
I was layed off in my 6th year of h1b and thought this is the end of world to me. Everyone around me have all sorts of crap advices like, you must be careful with your manager, you must know how to keep your job, you must learn how to butter your bosses so that you keep job when u r in 6th year of h1b etc...... but some gurus, these are folks in immigration.com who are actually in the IV founding team did gave me a lot of encouragement. I started everything new and found out that nothing is impossible if we work towards it with hard work, faith and perserverence - which is exactly what we are trying to tell people here.
Thise who realise what needs to be done here, come forward, those who do not realise, are always resistant. This is the time everyone comes forward and show support.
If you lose your job due to outsourcing, then there is nothing much you can do about it, but to look for a new job and do something about fixing the system

1. Already approved and more than 180 days after filling I485?
2. New job/position is “same or similar” as mentioned in I140?
Situation:
1. Employer wants to revoke the I140 or in way threatens
