    I'm there with the Bear.
Also, from an email I got from apple: Apple Expo will begin at 11 a.m. (CET) Tuesday, September 20 at the Porte de Versailles in Paris. There will not be a formal keynote presentation at this year's Apple Expo at Palais des Congrs.
So I'm guessing that means no major releases. You may have to hold out a while longer for your multi-media 'Pod yet!
..But you never know with Apple - damn them, damn them all!

What is a good app for a newbie to create a webpage? I want something simple and easy, free would be a plus. I also have a simple knowledge of html.

After a lot of deciding, I bought and am now using Dreamweaver. It isn't free though. If you qualify for a student/faculty discount it is $99. I am using the book Dreamweaver MX 2004: the Missing Manual (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0596006314/qid=1127826156/sr=8-1/ref=pd_bbs_1/002-6951142-5757641?v=glance&s=books&n=507846)
which is helping me a lot. I love the tutorials which you can download from the books website.

I know I haven't given you any thrifty suggestions but I am pretty happy with Dreamweaver and that book. Good luck!

I'm getting a little anxious for iWork '07. Hopefully we'll finally get a spreadsheet program.

Me too. I really hope Apple kicks iWork up a notch and makes it commercial grade in terms of speed and lack of bugs, and adds in the missing features.

iWork has the potential to be brilliant. I'd love to dump MS Office once and for all. I'm there with Keynote, and with a very, very solid upgrade with Pages, I'll be able to dump Word.

You're probably good for at least another 5 years haha. With counsels holding back pc games because they are mostly ported over. I can't image you would have to upgrade anytime soon.

I've frequently seen this when the plug is not fully inserted into the jack. It can take a fair amount of pressure to overcome that last detent in the jack.

I finished building a site using the latest RapidWeaver and it displays perfectly in Safari, but only Safari. It won't even display correctly in Firefox. I've looked through the code and can't see any problems.

    Any suggestions?

Hi guys, wanted to see what people's thoughts are on the iPad 2 Launch in Solihull and if anyone had any news or info.
Far as I'm concerned I'll be there, from previous launches people turned up and queued around 5.30/6 in the morning, from info I got from Touchwood security, on 25th they will be opening the Poplar Entrance (near John Lewis) before any other door due to the problems with too many open at the same time, which in turn caused too much chaos at previous launches.car park queuers will be led to the back of the main entrance line to keep order so personally would be just easier to walk round to secure your space and avoid disappointment.
As normal touchwood don't tend to give much away so I was lucky to get any info at all but it sounded fairly well thoughtout to stop any apple madness happening.

If your going, good luck and share any info as I have and we can all hopefully enjoy a nice new iPad 2 come Friday.

The color inconsistency may have to do with your browser and PS not using colorspaces properly.

He probably has color management turned on, and when he loads the images into the browser the colors are different. The solution would be to turn color management off in Photoshop.

Another issue might be that he is using blending modes for his rollovers that get lost when the image is flattened.

Anyone else notices that iWork will only update if the apps' are in Applications/iWork 06? That's poor design / very un-Apple: why can't I put my apps where I like?

Premiere will use the other cores, but for me i'd rather 4/6 cores with a higher clock speed and the matrox compressHD card, than a more expensive 8/12 core machine, with lower clock speed and no budget left for the compress card.

I understand. I'm honestly thinking of purchasing an iMac (after the refresh). I'll add the maximum amount of Ram (or atleast 16GB) and get the best processor from the Apple Website. I think that will be the best option for me. If I become unhappy, I'll sell my iMac or return it within the 30 Day Mark.

To sum things up with as little grief as possible, I'm selling my SD300. I don't have the box or anything for it but I do have a cheap walmart case to include and an extra battery. I also have a 1gb sandisk SD card to include with it. If somebody wishes, I can negotiate a deal for no card to be included say..if somebody already has one or something. You get the charger too.

Pics....I don't really have a pic of just the camera, just it pictured with some other stuff I'm slating for the chopping block. You can see everything at:

    http://pics.intarweblog.com/index.php?mode=album&alb=xmas

The camera is in the middle of the second to last picture. If you see anything else in any of the pictures that you may be interested in, let me know. paypal would be pretty much my only method of accepted payment and I really hate shipping to canada but I may do it on this camera since it would be a small package. Don't ask me to ship anything else to Canada, I might lose my mind on the next customs form while shipping something I'd be better off throwing away.

ASKING $250 for this camera with everything mentioned. No extra items implied. Shipping not included.

right i need a nap now...you have turned my brain to mush! haha.

i think i understand, im so use to stuff like drag a drop. NOOB! lol

That's option 1, just connect to both network shares and drag/drop to your hearts content.

Even though i said it's slow, if you have a nice fast network switch/router 1000BaseT is the way to go here, then your files will go lickety split. :D

So here's my questions for all you Mac guys out there:

How is security on a Mac as opposed to a PC?

Pretty damn good. I rarely ever (I don't think I actually have) read about someone getting a virus on their Mac. I don't have any virus protection software and everything is running just fine on mine.

Is it easy to keep files and programs organized and easily accessible?

Very easy. Coming from a PC it takes a little getting used to in the fact that you can't just add an organization bar at the top (date of creation, time, date of modification, etc.) [Unless you can, if so, someone let me know :)] You also can't cut and paste, you have to either drag and drop or copy/paste then delete the original.

How is the "ease of use" for a Mac beginner? I wanna be able to get it and go! Just like with my iPhone.

Very easy. At a basic point it seems to be a little easier and more user friendly than a windows PC is. Everything is done a certain way and if you can wrap your head around it, it's very simple. HOwever you have keyboard commands which make Macs very efficient. The use of spaces also drastically improves this with the ability to have "unlimited" desktops, each of which you can switch to at any time.

And my number one priority, how dependable will my Mac be in 2,4,and 10 years down the line if I can't just go and get another one?

Very dependable. Of course if you're speaking spec wise, it depends on what you get now, although you can always upgrade the specs.

I'm using an 08 BlackBook right now and love it; 2.2ghz, 4 gigs of ram, and a 320gb hard drive. Amazingly fast and it never lags, allows me to run XP and 7 in a virtual window (within a program, not a separate OS) without much slowdown either.

Single player mostly. I just find I'd rather be doing something else than playing video games when I'm with a group of friends. Unless it's something interactive like Guitar Hero, haven't tried a Wii yet but I'm sure I'd dig that.
