GC approval process is a long process, U just started U'rs. I don't understand whatz the panic..

I heard that if you register a LLC in California every year you have to around $800 tax fee, weather you do a business or not, is it true?
If I go with C-Corp, shall I liable to $800 as well, any ideas??

The minimum California franchise tax is the amount a California corp must pay the first quarter of each tax year whether it is active, operates at a loss or does not do business. The current minimum tax is $800.
The $800 tax payment is not due during the corporation's FIRST tax year. The first $800 minimum tax is due on the 15th day of the 4th month of the corporation's SECOND tax year.
Please note that LLCs are liable for the minimum franchise tax in all years (no two year exemption for LLCs).

Things are no so easy - if laws could be changed easily, lot of lobbyists have way more than 1 MM dollar - that's not any big money at US ... Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney wasted 35 MM personal fortune, Billary Clinton in strangled in 15-20 MM election debt where as Barack has created a historic fund raising record ( who single mother has raised him by taking help from Food stamp )
Everything is not just money (at least in America) - the line of money ends somewhere - even America being a Capitalist Nation. You know why Dick cheney is hated by 75% of Americans ?????:)
We need to raise a million $. Anything less is seeming to just not cut it.
Look where we are now with our half-hearted efforts.

It is possible to transfer a PD from one employment-based green card case to another, filed for the same individual, if the first case has reached the point where the 1-140 petition has been approved. Similarly, it is possible, in certain limited situations, to transfer a priority date from an approved I-130 petition to a later family-based filing. On occasion, however, it is difficult to make the service centers aware that the beneficiary has an earlier priority date.
The NSC, on June 14, 2005, provided instructions for a person filing a petition and requesting an earlier priority date based upon a previous case. A brightly-colored, flagged sheet of paper should be included to indicate that there is an earlier priority date. A copy of the prior I-797 Approval Notice of the I-140 petition should be inserted directly behind the brightly-colored sheet of paper. Though the NSC did not indicate where this should go in the filing, it is generally best to put such requests on the top of the filing or directly behind the cover sheet, to maximize the chance that it will be seen and acknowledged. Is that mean i can file I-485 with my previously approved I-140? I have also drop an email to my HR regarding the same. We do not have direct access to Attorney as every thing has to be directed by HR.

AS it is people are so stressed out attending medical appts 200 miles away from home. and being poked with vaccinations in all possible places..damn the body pain after DPT is miserable
also the details of the applications and the volatility of the way things may change ; ignoring the fact that everything is in the hands of your employer/lawyer.....
not to forget that the financial misery if you are filing for self + 2 dependents + lawyer fees is exceeding 5k...
why do you want open such nonsensical threads and raise the adrenalin...???
i wouldnt be surprised to be diagnosed with adrenalin tumor if this situation persists long...

General response has been non-committal. Most aides/members of Congressperson's office couldn't/wouldn't share Congressperson's position on the bill. Sounds like a touchy issue for them.

I asked the same question to my attorney as last time my wife was stuck in name check in H-4 stamping. This time she was on H-1 and I asked the attorney that if she goes for H-1 and H-1 get's delayed or denied can she use AP without affecting the GC and his answer was Yes. The AP should have an approval date before she left the country i.e. AP should be approved while she was in US.

The consular officer has asked her to submit additional information -221(g); mostly about her job and the company. I can't understand it! Most of the information asked has already been submitted to the INS in reponse to a H-1 RFE.
My wife has an Advance Parole document and EAD based on my I-485 application.
Can you suggest options for her?
1. can she forget about the H-1, not respond to the 221(g) and travel back on advance parole and start working on EAD?
2. If after submission of 221(g) her visa gets rejected, can she still use the Advance Parole to travel to US and work on her EAD?
3. Any other options/advice?

This and the new rumor that two senators were influencing USCIS clearly implies that the whole mess is a result of the CIR bill.
I can recall watching c-span a few days before the july bulletin came out. He said something on these lines "If we have 400-500,000 legal immigrants in the backlog for the past 4-5 years, how do you think we will able to provide GC to 11 million illegal immigrants?"
A few days after this, the July visa bulletin is released. CIR dies on June 26th or 27th and the two senators(whoever they are) influenced USCIS to "use up" all the numbers. THe more you read into this mess, it becomes clear that CIR was the root cause for the roller coaster ride of emotions.
This stuff is not a revelation but it confirms our suspicion all along that this was a political drama. I dont think this had anything to do with the fee increase.
I hope 60 minutes covers this scandal. If anyone has contacted 60 minutes, can you please let us know their email address?

To maybe make a little more clear, because the processing dates do not make any distinction between EB classes (EB1, EB2, EB3) when one EB class moves forward in the visa bulletin, then the service center may have to go backwards in processing date to process these because they received them earlier.
If they still pre-adjudicated they might not need to move the date backwards, but if they pre-adjudicated we are more likely to loss GC. For example if they adjudicate 180,000 applications per year, but that included 80,000 pre-adjudications then we would loss 40,000 visas that year. So now they adjudicate what they can issue visas for.
That being said there is still often no clear reason (to us) behind the dates. It would cause less frustration if clear reasons for dates were given.
