I work for a wierd desi company - They are okay payment wise ( though they also make lot of money out of me) but 485 fees they dont want to take up right now.

You can get 1099 MISC on H1B and also include that in your tax returns. You need to file a separate form though. I have done this before and confirmed with my attny that there should be no issues with that. The only thing that is important is that the income must be of a passive type.

USCIS addresses RFE's to attorney who represents you, you will not get the RFE. Even if you call USCIS, they will not provide you with clear details.

My case was approved on April 27, but I have got nothing on the mail so far and I have my sister's wedding to attend in my country... My husband can go later and give it to me, but I'm a little afraid.
I wanna know if evrything was ok with you and if u would recommend me to do that. I'm going crazy cause my flight is for May 11th and if I need to cancel I gotta do it 2 days in advance, no later than tomorrow I guess... I don't know If I should wait or just cancel flight. I'm going crazy!

I have traveled twice on same AP since in last 9 months. Once to canada and the other time to India. The immigration office does not look at anything other than your AP and passport. The most they will ask is what do u do and who applied for your green card.
You do not need to worry about anything and can travel freely.

1) Will the old 140 be valid (for using the PD) even if the old employer withdraws/revokes the old LC/140? Big corporation, so I thought that would be a standard procedure?
2) Has the new job title and responsibilities be very similar to the old one?
3) Has the new LC/140 to be filed before the old one is cancelled inorder to keep the PD?
4) is there any memo/law that allows us to keep the old PD once a 140 has been approved (even if it is revoken)?
It is clear that a new LC/140 has to be done once you change the job. So any other information is welcome.

I disagree...I think our next steps should be letters/webfaxes/phone calls to senators and Congressmen/women.
The reason why the flower protest news gained some legs was because it was unique. Lets not over do things. Now that we have somewhat of the media coverage, especially in NY times & Washington Post, we should write letters to senators/congress and request assistance.

What are the documents required for EAD application assuming that I-485 application is already filed?
At the time of applying for I-485, I didnot intend to apply for EAD.But after seeing a lot of application applied during July 2007, I realised that it may take years to get the Green card.So it is better to have a EAD in case if something happens to my job in the meantime.

My current project is finishing end of this month (Nov) and am not sure if my company will engage me in another project, I work with a offshore model company. If I dont get another project they provide two options work from India or find another company.
I filed for 485 on Jul 19. Got my EAD, 485 receipts, AP is pending. I-140 filed on Feb 28th 2007 at Nebraska and pending.
What are the risks if I move at this time. Company may not revoke I-140, but may not respond to RFE. If I take two months leave .. to buy time and come back (My current H1 stamp in passport expired), can I expect the I-140 to be approved by that time, Or can I apply for a new I140 through the new company and continue the GC processing. It mentions that in any of the incorrect filing, cases will be rejected...
does that mean I-485 is rejected for good or one cannot apply it again until PD becomes current in future?

I suggest you use the most recent A# on your I-485, and relax.
The USCIS adjudicator has access to all the information s/he needs. They can use your Name/DOB/Citizenship etc. to find out all the A#s that have ever been assigned to you. In case there is a need to change or assign a new A#, they will figure it out.

How come they cannot consider my EAD, Official transcripts, Graduate status letter?
Regarding Status letter, I have seen students applying like this and getting query later. What do you say about the students graduating in May (who files like me with OPT card and status letter) and applying for H1 in April?
You can postpone your graduation but you need to have completed all your credit hours and thesis work if any before you can apply on the master's degree quota. That is what people use their status letters for, to tell the USCIS that they have completed all degree requirements but will graduate later. In your case, since you haven't finished your degree requirements and will not do so by the time you apply for your H1B, the status letter is of no use.
