So the US kind of sucks with the stock market. We can't do After Hours trading like other countries can, so if the market is crashing we are screwed. Not to mention the media can tape Jobs walking akwardly out of the cancer place and the stock drops more than 20$. Kind of like insider trading in a way.
Anyways I am writing to see what people think about the market constantly dropping because of these 3rd world countries fighting over leadership. Thoughts? Anyone lost money if you own Apple stock because of this mess or any other stocks?
tell you the truth a closing the market is a good thing to prevent crashing. Otherwise it would drop even faster than it does. Market already has rules in place if a stock is dropping to quickly it is shut down and closed for the remainder of the day to protect it from getting out hand and fear taking over.

I've had no issues with SL like you're describing, including the applications you've mentioned. Remember that crashing issues may or may not be related to the OS... there's as good a chance of the software application in question being at fault as SL.

You could probably take what you need scanned to a service bereau, they'd probably do a better job than anything the average home user would. Just make sure they're reputable and use equipment that's better han what they use at walgreens :p

I really, really, really love my lamp, the old G4, but started university this month and realized fairly quickly that something portable would come in handy.
Now the question is, what to get. I'm considering a few options:
Get additional iBook 14" (But isn't that too small and slow?)
Get additional PB 15" (But that'll be bloody expensive )
Sell old faithfull G4, buy PB 15" + 20 " display for home use (anyone happy with that solution???)
Also I was wondering, If I get a new machine running Tiger, and keep the old running Panther, won't it be annoying to work with two different OS'es?
(can't use Tiger disc for portable to install Tiger on iMac G4, can I?)
Any advice appreciated

Might be there for 5 or 6 AM. Have a full day of work that starts at 9 AM and includes going out of town in the afternoon. Can't be sure I'll be up and alert enough to go later in the evening to pick-up. Plus it looks like fun
Same here, leaving on a flight at 2:30, but I don't have to work (I'm a grad student). I was hoping I could show up at 7 am and wait however long it takes and get the phone and still make my flight. I am guessing I don't have to stay up overnight to do that, and hopefully I can still meet cool Mac people.

Since you went the clean install route, my guess would either be bad ram or a bad HD. I had an iMac that had all sorts of weird lock ups and other odd problems. Traced it down to the HD, replaced it, been fine since.
It's probably not a loose connection, but worth a shot, make sure everthing inside is connected fully, reseat the ram and such.

Get the Crucial 1333MHz, as you need that speed definitely for your iMac, and I assume your laptop uses it as well. If your laptop uses the slower speed, it will not work in your iMac
According to a google result when I typed in the Ram Model part that CPU-Z told me, the Ram in my Dell is 1066. So for a fact this won't work in my iMac at all, even those it is the same 204-pin ddr3 ram?

1. Why "return 99;"? Doesn't make any sense at all. First, only 0, EXIT_SUCCESS and EXIT_FAILURE have defined meaning. I'd venture to say that people have done more work with less computer then that, so you should be fine with what you want to do.
