Of course it's for the protection of the public, but it's also not supposed to be a pleasant experience, it's supposed to suck. If you don't think that, i don't know what else to tell you, you're just too separated from reality at this point to turn back.
And you, on the other hand, are arguing that anything apart from death doesn't "suck" enough. If that's the case, why don't we return to beheading with a sword, or drawing and quartering? Surely the worst criminals "deserve" to die an excruciating, grisly death, just like their victims?

Wowee!! Congratulations!! :p And yeah, other people may have gotten all sorts of gadgets, but no iPad is gonna top a lifelong partner (99 times out of 100 at least :o)
Hahaha, you right, and thanks! My mom got an iPad from my dad, so I get to play with it here and there. Pretty nifty, but I don't know if I would ever drops the money on a big iPhone. :p

I've been searching around Google and this forum, but I can't seem to find any information on how to view comments in a Word document on the iPad
I would love to be able to this on my iPad, so if any of you knows how to, it would be great :)

They only reason the seller wouldn't clearly state is was a picture from the outset was to deceive potential buyers. 'Nuff said. Hopefully they'll get booted from eBay and paypal for wasting everyone's time.
Of course, whoever bids is a total moron, but no one deserves to profit off that.
I've seen worse though. Like an iPad auction with the selling waffling on about how great the device is in broken English, then saying it included accessories, and ending with "the iPad is here with me".

Okay here's the single coolest program ever. It's so cool that Apple should have thought of it.
Delicious Library (http://www.delicious-monster.com/)
It's a media library. It will make an index with images and information of all your Books, CDs, DVDs, Games, and more.
To get them in you can do a search, enter the barcode, by voice input, or best of all hold the bar code up to your iSight camera and it will read the barcode.
Once you have the data in it's like iTunes with lives searches, personal ratings, and custom playlists (collections). Also you have the ability schedule and checkout items to friends and family and do the scheduling via integrating with Address Book and iCal.
Last but not least is the ability to Sync this information with your iPod.
These are just the features I thought were the coolest there are more including bluetooth functions. Definitely check it out.

My new 15.2" PowerBook G4 867MHz machine. I sold my G3 500 and got this one. Its the last one to boot OS 9 and the slowest Mac to boot 10.5 natively without any fiddling

If an officer tells a teenage girl "try to avoid dressing provocatively", and you'll lower your chances of sexual assault, i find that to be fine.
Keep in mind we're not talking about Africa or Middle East, we're talking about US and there are women who get sexually assaulted regardless of what they're wearing...
Remarkably, the Iranian 'morality' police use your exact logic to force women to cover up, lest a hint of ankle might incense men to commit some terrible act.
The only difference is the amount of skin that makes such acts justifiable in some way, after all, the girl doesn't respect herself.
Men who rape women are monsters. Full stop and no amount of false equivalence will change this.
