    I don't think your design skills are quite good enough yet to be starting a studio. No offense but I think you'd be better off with a bit more practice before you step out in to the world of the design industry.

    happy to see so many folks can finally apply for I-485 and many stuck in retro can finally get GC.

    my PD is nov 2005 so I guess we will be waiting to apply for I-485 for a while (perhaps, 3-4yrs) :cool:

    Received the RFE today. It was asking for my birth certificate copy & translation. My lawyer says this is very common. For me this is stupid, they already got my birth certificate copy and the translation.

    Just make sure you covered all the bases and reply to them. It might not hurt to include another copy of your birth certificate and translation just for the heck of it along with your explanation who knows may be the earlier one got misplaced or messed up

    A friend of mine has got 221G from the New Delhi consulate. He works directly for the company there is no client involved here. The consulate has requested the details of every single employee of the company along with their immigration status. My friend is trying to get that information from the employer.

    Any suggestion at this point????

    I see people not supporting the CIR which was suppose to be a pro Immigration bill, no matter which part of the society it was supporting. My question is Are you guys out here a Pro or an anti immigration forum?
    Or are you guys out here are to fulfill their selfish dreams, stand on others to reach the top.
    Can anyone answer me? I really doubt the people out here.

    Make sure you take landing papers to US embassy with you to prove that you entered Canada legally. There should not be any problems.

    1) Allowing filing of EAD only 120 days before its expiry when the processing times by itself is >120 days

    2) Issuing a FAQ on interim EAD in 2008 when the process itself was eliminated in 2006.

    3) Issuing separate biometrics notices for EAD and I-485 for the same beneficiary.

    4) Allowing the beneficiary to work on H1 receipt notice but not on EAD receipt notice.

    5) Running multiple background checks for the same beneficiary for different immigration benefits (I-140, EAD, AP, I-485)

    6) Issuing RFE for EAD biometrics even after completing biometrics.

    7) Issuing RFE for EAD biometrics without issuing biometrics notice.

    8) Issuing EAD/AP’s with incorrect name, sex, DOB, photograph and validity dates thereby preventing the beneficiary from working/traveling without any alternative until the correction is made.

    9) Requesting an EAD expedite letter even after 90 days in spite of the obligation to approve EAD within 90 days.

    10) Requesting a wait time of 30 days to act on EAD expedite request even after 90 days thereby making the total wait time to 120 days (90 days +30 days) which by the way equals the time allowed to file EAD before its expiry.

    11) CSR’s providing conflicting answers to the same question.

    12) Backward movement of processing times instead of forward movement.

    13) Blindly approving petitions on raising mandamus law suits without providing a reason for the delay.

    14) Not sending the EAD physical cards on time even after the change in online status to CPO.

    15) IO’s at POE interpreting the usage of AP in different ways.

    16) Denying non-immigrant petitions like H1 on flimsy grounds such as not having a direct client and approving I-140 immigrant petition for the same beneficiary/employer.

    17) Issuing EAD/AP combined document and then issuing a memo that it’s invalid for travel.

    18) Allowing the beneficiary to work without employment authorization for 180 days (Section 245(k)) but going after the employer for engaging in such unauthorized employment.

    19) Requesting the EAD beneficiary to take an infopass appointment after 90 days without providing a provision to book an appointment when no slots are available.

    20) Last but not the least, wasted visa numbers and growing backlog with increased fees.

    Sounds like our desi babus are better than these potato heads. God Bless America.

    [.....Before your H-1 gets denied and before you move to EAD, it is important to change her status to F1, you can do this as long as her H-4 I-94 has not expired. You will need your latest Paystubs and H-1 approval to do this. ...]

    My H1B visa may be getting expired Sep4th....but her old H4 approval is valid until 2011.
    Is she safe even my visa (H1B) expired on 4th Sept.
    If I apply F1 (Student Visa) now...it will take another 45 days to get F1 approval from INS.
    So....what happens to her status? Is she valid to stay until she gets F1 approval notice?

    I suggested the same when i met with the congressmen. There should be a MAXIMUM processing limit, it is unfair to suck our blood till eternity. They understand but cannot do anything without a consensus.

    Set a time frame and give a result accepted or denied or something. We can plan our lives accordinly even animals slaughtered according to a schedule.:mad:

    With the way things are going, it might soon make more sense to be illegal anyway :D
    Maybe our message needs to be

    CONSIDER LEGALS BEFORE ILLEGALS

    or

    GUARANTEE MAXIMUM TIME FOR GC PROCESSING
    aka if your GC is not processed in 1 year (or some known reasonable length of time) from getting your 485, they should just automatically approve

    Hello IV Freinds,

    I checked my mail last Saturday, got Cards and welcome approval notices in mail. Status at USCIS website still shows all cases pending. I had called my Senators office for follow up week before as processing dates also had also passed.

    I appreciate IV for providing this website for sharing our immigration issues and concerns in this long journey.

    Good luck to all IV members who are still awaiting for good day to come.

    I140 copy is useful to argue that your extension is based upon I140 but is not absolutely required.. i was in the same situation abt 2 months ago.. my new employer was asking for I140 copy but then they filed with just the receipt # and stated that the copy is not available. i got my h1 transfer approved without any issue.. it all depends on the officer who is handling your case.. sometimes some officer thinks that it is your responsibility to provide everything, sometime some officer just looks up in their system with the receipt # provided.. but according to the lawyer from my new company they have never heard of the case where the transfer is rejected just coz the I140 copy was not provided
    my new employer also clearly stated to me that there are chances though of the rejection and even got my signature on a letter stating that i understand the risks..so may be u can ask your employer to get your sign on something similar to that and have them file just with receipt#

    Basically the receipt notice we will get soon would have a 'received date' and a 'notice date'.

    I read in another forum that 90-day count starts from the received date.

    I am not sure though!
