I'm on a MBP 13", C2D 2,4 Ghz, 128 gb SSD.
I noticed improved boot time between SL and Lion, and since the latest DP2 update I went from ~22 sec boot to ~17 sec. Seems like this is something the boys in Cupertino takes seriously, and I like it!
I clock the time from pushing the power button until the OS is loaded and wifi has connected.
How big of a difference is you guys noticing, if any?

An ARM processor would be terrible. Every app would have to be reworked, things like VMware would be dead, bootcamp would be dead, etc.

does that mean the windows partition is still active in some way?
The boot loader is still looking for it. There's an entry (IIRC in the nvram) that tells it which partition on which disk it is expected to use as the default startup disk. In your case it was still pointing at the Windows partition for some reason.

I'd just like it to be in perfect working condition, let me know if you've got one.
Thanks!

I think I know what you are talking about. If I close my PB and open in the next 5 seconds or so, it doesn't wake up. I have to press a key to get it to wake. I think it doesn't finish going to sleep or something. I've learned to just deal with it.

Sorry for my false answer than...
When I installed Windows 7 64-bit and wanted to install Bootcamp drivers, bootcamp said that its software wasn't compatible with Windows 7 64-bit. So I concluded that Bootcamp was unsuitable to install the drivers correctly in 64-bit.
My bad, sorry.

Yes, I know you probably cant. But is there anywhere I could get a hole of a G5 Processor. I want to build one myself is possible. Also is there anywhere I should look for Power Mac's G5 used? They are all so exspensive on ebay for even used ones. I would love one if I could ever afford it.:(

Hey guys,
So I'm a complete noob when it comes to running Windows on my Mac. At the moment, I've partitioned my HD in two, and I'm running SL and Lion on the separate partitions.
I'm wondering though, is it possible to split my HD a third time and install Windows on this partition?
Thanks!

thanks,
I want to use the se/30 as a low budget fileserver, therefore the big HD...
I set the jumpers to "narrow-mode", this should fix the bus bandwidth issue.
I think I'll give the machine to an Apple technician to install it if noone else has any ideas - I can't fix it myself :(

The classic software dilemma: Do it for free but spend some time learning; or pay a few bucks for ease of use.
I'd suggest googling some more. You should find a good rsync tutorial that can walk you through the various options.

Hey so I bought my friends old I phone 3gs. It is a 16gb iphone 3gs on 4.3.2 firmware. The sleep button is broken so I had to use pliers to put it into dfu. The problem is that every single jailbreak I have tried has failed. No matter what I do. I used redsn0w, but when I tried installing the custom firmware I gpt "error 21." So I looked on some forums and got a little further but then got "error 1601." Tried to fix it but nothing worked. I tried blackra1n, but it got stuck on "running." I tried limera1n but it also got stuck on running. Even redsn0w got stuck. I don't know what is wrong. Someone please help! I am running on a pc netbook by the way, because my mac mini is getting repaired.
The problem is the power button probably.
Maybe the pliers didnt do the job right and wasnt able to keep the button pressed for as long as needed to enter pwned DFU.
Also if you're on 4.3.2 there's no point on using incompatible JB tools like blackrain that worked only on 3.1.2 and limerain that was for 4.1

Have you tried zapping the PRAM? Thats what I normally try when I have odd startup/reboot issues. I can recall that once fixing an issue I had with my Sawtooth. It would allow me to reboot but not shutdown. I would select shutdown in the Apple menu and just as it seemed like it was about to shutdown it would start the reboot process. I zapped the PRAM and all was well again.

Have you set up your Gmail account for IMAP access?

There is a ton of information about setting up Apple Mail with Gmail out there on the interwebs. Try Google if you have specific questions. I'm sure it's been asked before.

i like how this is a thread.
it wasn't supposed to be, it was testing if you could post in the marketplace, and you could, even though it was supposed to closed to new threads.
All problems have now been resolved though, so this thread should be closed imo.

IMAP doesn't sync contacts - you can use your exchange setup to sync mail, contacts, and calendars (and I believe notes, not 100% on that one), is there a reason why you wouldn't do that?

How long does the keynote last? Since it doesn't start here until 5pm :(
Best thing to do is just watch it in the morning, or the next day at least.

Weird. I haven't seen a firmware that impacts a specific OS. Both versions are still available on cisco.com as well as v4.0.0.7. Have you tried this version, assuming you have Rev3 hardware?
Also, what made you decide to upgrade? 1.3.12.19 was released in so it seems strange to suddenly jump up to that version in 2011.
EDIT: I found this:
http://homecommunity.cisco.com/t5/Wired-Routers/RV042-connectivity/td-p/292664
Try manually setting the MTU to 1500.
