that's the Smooth tool not the Brush tool. If that's what you really get when you click the Brush tool try resetting Illustrator's Preferences:
Move or rename the Adobe Illustrator Preferences file: Users/[user]/Library/
Preferences/Adobe Illustrator CS[X] Settings
Then restart Illustrator.
That worked once, but not again. It might be something to do with my Wacom Bamboo, could that be messing it up? it's just extremely frustrating! Also, it does it with the blob brush tool and the pencil tool.
Thanks!

Has anyone had success with a mini DVI to HDMI female adaptor? (to avoid VGA). Or is the problem to do with the Mac Mini (e.g. Doesn't send HDCP compliant signals like PowerBook does)??
I have a 2009 Mac Mini with both mini-DVI->HDMI and mini-DisplayPort->HDMI - Both seem to work nicely, although I'm not sure if it supports HDCP or not. You could also try doing DVI into your TV
Does your VGA adapter work with a regular monitor?

OpenOffice 2.0 will run natively, so you won't need X11 and it'll look nice :)

do shell script "osascript -e 'version of application "Application"'"
Something to this affect should work. You need to tweak the quotation marks obviously. Replace "Application" with the app you want to find the version.

Which would be best? to all those who have experience with both or either, which feels closest to pencil & paper? I have never used a digital tablet, but have just used pencils & paper old school style.
I would also like the tablet and or software to be able to trace over sketches & compare sketches side by side for comparison, as I do this to pick a final sketch for an artwork.
I have seen some of the sketches with the ipad, & they look impressive, I like how the ipad is portable, & from some of the scenic art sketched on it, it seems like it could be taken outside.
The ipad looks like it would be easier to take out in the filed or outdoors to sketch, where as the wacom tablets have to be connected to a laptop or computer.
I asked about this on another forum, & was told the ipad's screen is too shiny to be of any use for drawing outdoors on site.
I have a macbook laptop, & will probably be getting the student version of Adobe CS5 software to take some classes on it.
I am looking into digital sketching as well because, I have alot of sketchbooks around, & the paper attracts silverfish, & I archive some of them by scanning them. I do this to get the sketches on smaller media like DVD's to archive, since I live on a canyon & my area has had wildfires. I would not want to lose my sketches on the paper pads, that is why trying or doing digital sketching would have my sketches in digital form. The scanning of the paper sketching get tedious, as a single project can produce 10 to 60 or more sketches, so I find myself falling behind on my scanning.

Hi, here are a couple of links for your reference:
1. http://www.pocketsdemon.com/search?productid=1_34
2. http://www.pocketsdemon.com/search?productid=1_27_202
Their website states they offer free delivery on every order. And according to the "Package Contents" section under each product page, they will offer a free screen protector to every customer.

Will this software be available for other Macs as well?
Like can I use the Remote Drive feature on my Mac Book Pro?
Or will this feature just be for Mac Book Air?
And how do they connect to your other computers? WiFi?

It says "Apple Partition Map" How would I change it to the GUID? I have tried erasing it, restoring, etc... but nothing changes...
Thank you,

Thanks for reply . It is obviously visible that the complaint is about 10.4 sdk
I was bit surprized by the error message having reference to 10.4 sdk but all the frameworks belong to to absolute path "/System/Library/Frameworks/***.framework"
(by clicking get Info button on individual frameworks)

Just bought a Just-Mobile AluPen capacitive stylus (http://www.xtand.net/alupen.html) that I plan on using for my iPad/iPhone, but wanted to give it a shot on my MacBook Pro's trackpad as well (same capacitive-touch technology).
The problem is that with the MacBook, when you're using a drawing app like Pixelmator, it waits for click input to start drawing "ink" to the canvas. It's not like an iPad where you're either drawing (contact on screen) or you're not (no contact).
How do I get this stylus to work intuitively on my MacBook the way it works on my iPad? I don't want to be clicking the trackpad when I'm drawing. It distorts things and degrades the stylus's tip much faster because of all the added pressure.
There's got to be a way...
PS
I tried enabling "Tap to click" and "Dragging" in the Trackpad settings pane but those don't work intuitively either. There's got to be a better solution.

Some people have reported that re-installing 10.3.8 using the Combo updated from Apple's website rather than the incremental upgrade that you likely did through Software update cured stability problems with 10.3.8.
Worth a shot?
Yes,it does. That solved a lot of my problems, and kernel panics seem to have stoped. Coincidence?

Well, since ADC members aren't getting it early ... looks like I will be standing inline. I am sending my GF down an hour before I get off work, so I will be there around 4pm-ish.

Actually, I watched this, too... just haven't commented on it yet.
Good production values, good FX, good setup so far. It's hard to see how this could go more than one season even if it avoids early cancellation, though. The lead actress is OK, but I do like the actor who plays the secretive scientist (Rade Szerbedgia, I think is how his name is spelled... he's been good in everything I've seen him in).
One TiVo moment: When the heroine first is talking to her son and goes into the other room, there's a VERY quick flash of what might be an unairable body part... rhymes with tipple. ;)
I'll keep watching it for now... but on TiVo, not live (Monday Night Football gets that honor from me).
