I agree.
Please tell me why you find it acceptable to use homophobic slurs.
So violence is an acceptable solution? So I can beat Gay persons up (Don't twist this analogy, I've stated numerous times on this board, I'm all for Gay rights), I just can't, in their opinion, verbally insult them?
I have been physically assaulted in the past by straight people using those slurs. I have received death threats as well. You have no idea what that is like, not one ****ing clue. Get over yourself. Anyone who calls me ****** is gonna get a very firm talking to. If they continue, worse. Sorry if you don't like that, but I'm not going to put up with it. I will defend myself against such people. Again, why do you find the use of homophobic slurs acceptable?
Also, would you use the N word in the presence of a black person and not expect a negative reaction? Why do you think we should be any different?

Yeah - I'm glad Apple thinks education is the issue. After all - their education on Antennae did a world of good

As someone who has to track down things like this constantly, I'm pretty unimpressed at the (lack of) speed of their code checking. This was not an obscure bug or complicated. It was just a too-large buffer definition and an execution path that always downloaded info.
And people think Apple can check binary app store submissions for bugs or trojans in just a few minutes, when they can't even find their own bugs in a few days with commented source code.
Again unimpressed. There've been accurate explanations posted here before Apple spoke up, that took just minutes to compose.
Although I've defended Apple over and over again on this topic, this just smacks of hoping it would blow over.
The right thing to do would've been to immediately say a week ago, "we're looking into it".
You sound as though you are in CS, escalation engineering or SQE; am I correct?

I've created a draft of a Style Guide (http://guides.macrumors.com/Help:Style_Guide). Most of the guidelines there are just what I thought was best, so are not final yet. Some are based on discussions in existing threads.

Most paste can take up to a week or two to take it's full effect.
second that. takes a bit for everything to line up and get useful.
mmm - Geekbench score 732. woohoo
temp is sitting at around 46-47 degrees C or 117 degrees F at idle. A bit better than before the MX-2 paste.
Lets see what 2Gb of ram does
sounding good so far. i would think those temps would come down a bit more after getting set. the fans at 12v (with quiet fans) is a good idea to move as much air a possible, as long as the noise is not a problem of course.
more ram will make everything better, but will also raise the ambient temps in the case as ram does get warm.
can't wait to see how it all ends. and pics. :)

I thought I might post a video I made... It's a mix of 4 video's actually, and some other editing...
It would be cool to have a video category here, but I understand how the bandwidth suffers from it..... :)
Here's my vid, watch it..... (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZNps4NarNHE)
I may have posted this in the wrong category, sorry.....

Apple is using boobs to sell e-mail! Pass it on!
that's really childish. the REAL question is who took the picture? they're on their honeymoon, for gosh sakes: and they took a friend?

Rest of the world says hi. This thread is about alleged stats for the US only. Android is caning the iPhone globally.
Any proof, or just randomly spouting opinions?

I'm not sure you would describe it as "caning" but Android phones comfortably outsold the iPhone last year.

Then go buy .Mac on eBay. You'll probably pay less than $50.
Most of the cut-rate hosting companies I've dealt with are actually less reliable than .Mac has been for me over the years (uh, Dreamhost, anyone?).
Sync services make .Mac worth it for me. That, and I've been using my .Mac email address since the first days of iTools, and the IMAP mail functionality has always worked very well between my main desktop, my laptop, and viewing from the web despite the highly dated current interface which looks like it's finally getting a modern, AJAX-y makeover itself.
Presumably the other web interfaces into .Mac are getting an equally complete (and equally overdue) makeover, as Peace hinted at. If there's new services being added, all the better.
Naturally, more storage would be welcomed and ought to be expected, given the competition out there. WebDAV / Finder file transfer speeds really need to be fixed, but I just access my iDisk via an FTP program if I want to transfer any big files back and forth. It's also dead simple to use iDisk to transfer files to my less than tech-savvy friends.
And you still get a free VersionTracker Plus account for being a .Mac member, which saves you $25 right there. :)
i don't think getting a free versiontracker is enough. I never understood why versiontracker is such a big deal because most of softwares get automatic updates anyway. unless i am missing something, i never use versiontracker.

Single biggest timesaver/hand movement reducer I have ever installed on a computer, period (and I've been using 'em since the before there was a Mac).
Just curious, what kind of computer were you using before 1984?

OK, so I was surfing macbytes and found an article about had to install a trackpad into your iBook *bad idea* So I deleted my AppleADBMouse.kext and replaced it with the trackpad one. I reset and it says it was installed improperly and I can't use my mouse. How do I install this properly and could someone upload another AppleADBMouse.kext for me. It would be a huge help.
Thanks

 you've got to be joking right now. it's not supposed to be cushy, it's supposed to be horrible, and it's supposed to last until the day they die if they don't get the death penalty.
Despite what you, I, or a victim's family might want, incarceration is not punishment. Incarceration is the protection of the public.
The Federal Bureau of Prisons protects society by confining offenders in the controlled environments of prisons and community-based facilities that are safe, humane, cost-efficient, and appropriately secure, and that provide work and other self-improvement opportunities to assist offenders in becoming law-abiding citizens.
