blevins321, those are nice photos, good subject matter and exposure - but I would classify them as snapshots rather than stock or competition grade pictures.
Composition: All four photos have the subject placed directly in the middle of the image - it's very matter-of-fact, and not interesting to the eye.
Attention to detail: For stock or competition you can't have mistakes in your images. The cheetahs are missing their tails, the deer seems to have only one horn (or something odd going on with it's ear), two of the camels are missing rear feet - and I can see the top of a landrover over the next hill.
Finish: To take pictures to the next level you have to do some post processing to make sure brightness, contrast, saturation and sharpness are all good. These images could all do with some work.
I don't want to put you off - you're enthusiastic about your photography, which is great. Why not start entering photo competitions (plenty of photo forums online that do competitions) so that you can get feedback to help you improve? Also try to look at your pictures a lot more critically.

I was just giving you a hard time, it's the nature of my personality. ;)
Not a problem,
I have to say that my girls are SO excited to head to Disney world. They were 3 the last time we went and they had fun then. Now that they're 5 they are climbing the walls waiting to go. This vacation is for them pure and simple and I'll have so much fun watching them enjoy themselves.

i found this thread while looking for the solution to a similar situation. I too am looking for a phone with a QWERTY keyboard that does not require a data plan, but I also need a calendar that can sync with my mac computer. I don't care what calendar it is (google/ical/other) and and am willing to buy/download third party software, but am not sure about Bit Pim since fourm users' reviews seem mixed at best. I would like to stay with Verizon (cdma) if possible, but haven't found a phone on their network to fit my needs, so now I am open to any carrier. Any advice appreciated.
Well, I don't know about the calendar syncing, but the best Verizon feature phone is the LG enV3.

There have been Wii's they just sell out fast :o
Pre-orders don't always work out either. We had one down from September, system launched in December and we had no idea where on the queue we were. So we luckily snatched one from my local Argos (they get 8-15 units every Thursday night) after putting an order on Wednesday.
I've noticed they start selling out as soon as a new game hits. I managed to get one in January, a friend of mine got his not long after. Then out came a few games and they were sold out again :( my girlfriend accumulated 3 of them... then out popped a few more games.
Good luck in hunting for one. There's a lot of demand for that little white box :)
I really hope the shortage doesn't last much longer, this may just end up being the longest one in history for game consoles :/
I believe the 360 was sold out here for 3 months, the PSP for 1 month. Wii is up to 5, certainly a modern day record.

I would use Rapidweaver - it's a step up from iWeb which is important as I'm pretty sure iWeb is going to be getting dropped soon!

I have to say that normally I don't use beta versions as my main OS, but after a week of testing the OS on a spare disk, I was so impressed and decided to take the plunge and upgraded my main installation.
The upgrade took 5 minutes on my SSD!!! Everything works great so far, but of course I am still testing. I have a backup of my system before the update, just in case :)

Well SafariSpeed works great, but PithHelmet crashed Safari when I went to CNN.com. I noticed PithHelmet hasn't been updated since 10.3.8 came out, so maybe that's the problem. Thanks for the tips!
Use PithHelmet version 0.7.3. The latest versions don't work well. Always crashing, slowing down safari... ugh.

I didn't install Flash on my 2011 MBP, probably never will - I use YouTube5 Safari extension to watch their videos. Is there a way to download youtube videos with this setup? Would love to have them as H.264.

I like the desktop threads in the picture gallery because it's interesting to see how other people have Mac configured, and now I'm curious about their iTunes libraries.
I'm a huge iTunes freak. Every single note in my metadata needs to be organized and filled out. My album artwork has been individually inserted, along with any additional "radio single" artwork for the additional songs. And consider that I have 6,703 songs, you pretty much have an idea of what I do on my time off. :)
Composers for me was pretty much a useless label because almost each song had an individual array, so I simplified it to the following list: Albums, Compilations, Music Videos, and Other. Other is anything that isn't an official album, like a CD single or something. It looks very pretty checking out the "albums" section and only seeing official releases instead of bootlegs, live albums, EP's, etc.
Genres is something else I have simplified, and I hope I get to see somebody's input on this because I really hope to change it. My list is as follows: Books & Spoken, Electronic, Experimental, Hip Hop/Rap, Pop, Rock. That's it. Has anybody else found themselves in a conflict where you don't know where an artist goes? Alternative can be such a confusing label because you don't know whether to put it under Alternative, Folk, Punk, or Rock. So I just simplified it and placed artists under those general genres. However, I don't like it, and I'm going to make a more diverse set of genres.
Also, do you use Groupings? How do you personally organize them?
So... share your stuff! I'm interested in seeing what people have their library configured like.

Hi.
I'm a new Mac user after having dealt with PC's for way too long, and I'm certain that I'll never look back to Windows ever again. I love my MacBook Pro to death, and I especially love Mac OS.
I have some money to spend, and there is a nice looking iMac G4 on a surplus website that I am extremely interested in purchasing if the price is right. Right now, it looks as though the price will stay pretty reasonable given that there is only 1 day and 21 hours left until the auction ends, and current bid is less than $65 dollars.
Here's the iMac that I'm interested in buying: From the pictures it looks to be a nice Mac.
I'd love to know anything and everything that I should know about this iMac whether the information is good or bad. What can you tell me about it?
From the pictures, it looks like it is running Leopard, so that seems nice (even though I'm used to Snow Leopard on the MBP).
There are a few things I'm hesitant about. Because it is a non-Intel Mac, I'm basically out of luck if I want to watch YouTube videos, play games that require Flash, etc. Right? YouTube does have a HTML5 beta version of the website, so would that work on a non-Intel Mac? I mainly browse forums, Yahoo! chat, etc. I should be fine, I think. I wouldn't kill me to watch YouTube videos or anything that required Flash on the MacBook Pro.
Would I be able to browse the internet using AirPort on this iMac?
Is there anything else that you think I should know before potentially buying this Mac?
Thank you SO much! I appreciate it! :)

The problem is the potential scattering of files and the date/revisions getting confused.
You could do a VPN with remote access when you are on the MBP and then have the files local when you get back to the home network. Although a VPN can be blocked by firewalls and are heavily (obviously) on the network speed.
I'll be interested to hear what other people have to say in response to your query...

Wasteland serves two main purposes. One, as an example to others. Two, so that people know where their threads have gone. It takes about five seconds to move a thread in there.
In many cases, deleting threads can make more work because the thread starter can often contact mods asking where their thread has disappeared to.

Maybe, I've never gone to MacWorld even though I live in San Jose. Only hurdle for me would be taking a day off of work, although i've got plenty of vacation time. Not much of a drinker myself, and not too familiar with SF. Last time I went to meet-up with some people in SF, we ended up in a "massage" parlor.:o:D

That's what I was going to say. It's probably got nothing to do with DRM as they allow analog out to work.
HDMI is not an analog signal.
HDCP makes sure the content path is protected and only displayed via approved paths/methods.
If you're sending the output via HDMI, HDCP and DRM will prevent it from working if it fails the DRM check.
The Netflix app simply doesn't allow the stream to be redirected.
Same thing applies to their desktop app and even the app built into many TV's and Blu-Ray players.
The stream can only be sent to a device (TV, Video card, etc.) once it passes HDCP and DRM checks.
Older LCD's will still pass the check if the HDMI interface is secured.
Adapters tend to cause this check to fail.
The old HDTV's with DVI interface's are hit and miss on passing the HDCP check.
