Is there some C / C++ / Vitamin C / Beta Carotene joke that I'm missing?
Interesting news, but the title in relation to the article sucks.
Its a saying.

Congrats !
Great too hear you are happy with your purchase.
I had a similar experience when I switched a couple of month ago.
The thing is: it just works.
Well - thats what it is made for. But I have used and still have to use PCs as well - and they often simply don't do what they are made for.
Againg congrats
Cheers

It does sound like it could be hardware...
Two things that are sort of unlikely, but worth considering:
1) If this happens often enough, can you get someone else to try it? If you have many calluses on your fingers, or something like this, then sometimes this will interfere with the trackpad functioning.
2) The trackpad also will behave erratically or not at all if it gets wet.
But barring those things, if this happens in Linux, it sounds as if there is something wrong with your hardware. :(

Hi-
Is there any way to get all the stuff that's on my old harddrive onto one of my newer Macs?
The G3's running OS 8.5.1.
I guess if it's possible it'd have to be via ethernet?
It's one of the earlier models that doesn't even have USB (not that that'd make any difference).

Hi,
Am trying to get a website together and am having a bit of an issue loading an external movie clip into another movie.
I have done this with one external movie clip, however it is when i am trying to load in a spatial test which i have created it seems to mess up.
the actual spatial test movie clip works as intended when run on its own, it is only when it is loaded into another movie that it breaks.
It all works until it gets to a section which includes dynamic text, could this be the problem?
Id be really greatful for any thoughts?
have included the site folder, to experience the problem run the mainsite.swf and then click on spatial test... you will get past the start section and then it freezes...
Thanks.
Rich.

We maintain a few computer labs where I work and have some Macs on an Active Directory (AD) domain. The users (mainly students) log in and have their home folder on the network (via smb). It works great; users can take their environment with them wherever they log in and all that jazz.
Is anyone else running such an environment, and have you tried Lion yet? With the way Apple is moving (app store, OS more geared to the consumer) I wonder if these features will remain, or if there are problems integrating Lion into such an environment.
We love the flexibility OS X accords us; we can set up individual machines to either create local home folders for AD users, or use the network home directories, as well as lock down the machines pretty well.
I have not tested in an AD domain, but my understanding is SAMBA is being replaced (http://www.appleinsider.com/articles/11/03/23/inside_mac_os_x_10_7_lion_server_apple_replaces_samba_for_windows_networking_services.html) with Apple's implementation of it.
Using the NT domain controller will not be an option either. Active Directory only. I am not in an enviroment to test for you. Sorry.

Hi there, can anyone help?
I bought Aperture 2 many months ago, but found it wouldn't work on my Powerbook G4. I then switched to Adobe Lightroom, and put the Aperture software in the cupboard.
I've just sold the software, but the new user gets the error message, 'serial number invalid'. It's possible I entered the serial number (can't remember), but the software itself was never used. How do I get the software to work for someone else?
Many thanks for any help.

Look for any old HP LaserJet with AppleTalk support, or buy an old Apple Laserwriter. I had a 16/600 and it was fantastic. Check Craigslist first, as these things will be heavy and shipping will get spendy. Your Mac will also print over ethernet, so any Postscript printer with ethernet should work as well.

I have an Airport Wireless Card for sale.
AirPort is a wireless networking solution from Apple. Based on high-speed wireless technologies called 802.11b, you can connect to the Internet or to other computers without wires, additional phone lines, or complicated networking hardware from almost anywhere in your home, classroom, or business.
The original Airport card is no longer made, so it's extremely rare. You better jump on this deal now as this is in marvelous condition, hardly ever been used. I am the original owner of this item.
Price? $100 without shipping; we can figure out *exact* shipping later.

I'm looking for a budget camcorder to use for a couple of important occasions this year and I've been looking at a well known catalogue store and they have a Hitachi C20 HD Camcorder for 169 and I was wondering if anyone could advise me as to whether this was any good or not as I don't seem to be able to find any reviews.
My initial budget was 200 max but I'm now wondering whether I should extend my budget a bit and go for something like a Canon HF M306 or a second hand HF100.
Can anyone offer me any advice?

Oh my ...
That's a "DUH" moment - can't believe I forgot about that!
One question related to -- is there any mouse/trackpad movement/app that can "simulate" a tab-press?

I did the original Sn0wbreeze 2.3b1 and had Infinidock working on my iPad running iOS 4.3. I installed Infinidock first, I have just upgraded to Sn0wbreeze 2.3b3, and this time I installed winter board first, now Infinidock no longer works, I'm hoping this is related to the install order? I had also installed the mobile substrate update after Infinidock, and still had seven dock icons...
Well as I figured I'll just have to wait for the update to Infinidock.

I bought a new 13" macbook pro today, 2.7GHz i7, but it has randomly shut down on me 4 or 5 times now, in the 10 hours that i have it. The first time was when i was setting up the mac when i first booted it up. Then i just assumed faulty OS install, i put in my vertex 3, installed the OS on there, but it happened a couple other times. Can i fix this? Should i return it? Thanks!

You're thinking of Don LaFontaine, who passed away in '08.
That's him, rather was him.
